It’s all glam and fame at this point for Swati Singh Rajput, as she won the title of ‘Starlife Miss India 2018’. Being on top of the world, she is in all smiles as her hard work has finally paid off. She reminisces her journey from the moment she began modelling to the moment she won the title.
Born on Valentine’s Day (1995), Swati did her schooling from ‘Saraswati Vidyamandir’ in Delhi. As a student, she was an all-rounder and was equally good with academics, sports and other co-curricular activities. This beautiful woman was also an inter-school badminton player once upon a time.
Talking about her college, the New Delhi Institute of Management (Tuglaqbad), Swati reveals how she was not confident during the first year although she was an all- rounder back in school. And that was when her professor, Mr. Ankur Bhudiraja discovered the spark in her for modelling and boosted up her stage confidence.
College was the time when Swati discovered herself as a model, more when she ran into a designer named Surdi (during a college event), who had given her contacts and had also done a shoot with her. She had also walked the college ramp for the designer. After her college fest, she pursued her passion in not just modelling, but also in the field of anchoring.
Swati is also a post-graduate in MBA (finance and marketing), and had pursued her interests of modelling and anchoring even during that time. By the end of her post-graduation, she had also established her name as an anchor and a model. Speaking of her anchoring experience, her very first event was a beauty exhibition held in Delhi (2015).
Just like any other post-graduate student, our dazzling star of Starlife, entered the corporate world for one good year as a business analyst in a research firm called Evaluserve. Swati considers this as one of her toughest times because she had worked almost 19 hours a day, due to her job and her other modelling and anchoring works. Her day would start at 5 am and end, at around 3 am.
Later on she decided, it was modelling and anchoring that she wanted to pursue and Swati went on to host more than 300 corporate shows and also celebrity shows with Siddarth Malhotra, Meet Bros, Akshay Kumar among many others. She has also anchored for international shows held in Singapore and Malaysia. Speaking about modelling, this remarkable lady has modelled for many e-commerce shoots, print shoots for various brands, has been a runway model, and now, has won the title of ‘Starlife Miss India 2018’.
Our multi-talented Swati, also reveals on how she always wanted to be on the big screen as a Bollywood actress, and she took her first step when she did a minor role in the famous Irrfan Khan film- ‘Hindi Medium’. When asked on winning the title of Miss India, this gorgeous darling is on cloud nine, and shares her feelings on modelling. “I love being on the stage…I never want to be a part of the audience, and I ensure that I be the best in whatever I pursue.”
Swati further discloses her role models, the major one being King Khan. When it came to SRK, she had a lot to talk. “I always adored Shah Rukh Khan as a person and the way he talked and hosted. I have missed many opportunities to meet him, because I have pledged that I will meet him on stage, and not as a part of an audience. That will be the day when I share with him my story and reveal how much of a big fan I am.”
Apart from SRK, Swati speaks about her parents and brother Harshit, who are very supportive with her work and her dreams. She also talks about one of her good friends, Shikha Pandey- “She is someone who is very energetic and I’ve never seen that in anyone before. She has taught me a lot when it comes to life and the industry; I respect her for that.” She also mentions about a few friends from her firm Evalueserve, (especially Sahil, Abhay, and Darpan), who used to appreciate her hard work and enthusiasm for achieving her dreams.
Swati is also quite of a celebrity on Instagram too, with around 26,000 followers. This lovely lady also has a fan page dedicated, which is handled by a surgeon. She specially thanks him as well as another fan named Saransh who has donated RS 12,000 for her Ketto campaign (which was a part of the Starlife Miss India pageant).
When asked further on the pageant, she reveals her dedication towards it. “I had invested one year in gym and dieting; I also reduced 11 kg as a result. 20 days before the event, my diet was just egg whites and salad, to get a perfect shape and jawline. I tried learning from everyone including my mentors, trainers and groomers. I have also worked on my introduction and communication.” Swati tells on how her success mantra is all about believing in herself and how every day is all about improving and learning; she also believed in helping others just like how she has helped the other contestants during the pageant.
After Starlife, she even received goodie from Big Boy Toys, which was a perfume with her name engraved on it. She has even got an upcoming project of a music video. Swati dreams on winning the Filmfare award and we all wish the same for her too!
