Prayaga, a talented and beautiful South Indian actress, who rose to fame with her debut role in a Tamil flick ‘Pisaasu’, shares with us her take on the fashion and film industry. The actress, who has recently awed the audience with her performance in ‘Ramleela’ as ‘Helena’, is also quite an active Instagrammer, sharing her various insights into the modelling and fashion world. In spite of being successful as an actress, Prayaga admits that she has always had more of an inclination towards modelling and fashion.
Here is a glimpse of the interview-
1. What brought you into the world of modelling?
A. My grandfather was a producer in the 80’s; so basically I have a background related to the film field and therefore it was no mere coincidence. It was not a new feeling for me since I got into movies through modelling. Since Childhood, I have always loved and fascinated clothes, makeup, the camera etc. So, I could say it was some inner force that pushed me to do it.
2. How would you define yourself as a fashion icon?
A. I feel people should have an opinion on it; people should define me rather than me defining myself as a fashion icon. The first question is am I a fashion icon to them? If I am, then the ‘why’ of it should be answered by them.
3. Who would you say is your biggest influence in the film industry and why?
A. I am not someone who blindly follows anyone; I don’t have a role model. I entered the industry to put in my signature. Although, I could say that the people at the top have always had an impact on me in some way or the other. I have always been curious about their reason for success, because they are wrapped up with success for some reason.
4. What was your first ever audition like?
A. I was not really nervous because I knew that many doors are open, ready to be knocked if you are confident. By God’s grace I did not attend many auditions and got blessed to be part of a movie. I always had relaxed auditions and always knew that I don’t have to be nervous. I learnt that it was best to be relaxed.
5. What is your success mantra?
A. Stability! We must always be stable enough to think properly and also do things by keeping others in mind. It shouldn’t be always about you; people are constantly judging you. Whichever field we may be in, we must be able to see others’ point of view.
6. What is your advice for upcoming actors?
A. I still feel I am not someone to advise because no one can carry my path nor can I carry theirs. Although, I could advise them to believe in themselves and also to be confident.
